The Global Warming Swindle

I recently had a brief discussions with a few of my friends about Global warming and whether they believed it to be a myth or a reality. Personally when I think about Global warming I see it as a threat to the future and as I learn more I see results of Global warming impacted the lives of my children. For this reason I decided to check out this brief video on the arguments that Global warming is a myth. 

The Global Warming Swindle theory suggest Global Warming is a form of propaganda and is a lie. They argue that climate change due to excess CO2 in the atmosphere will lead to increase in heat and as a result the polar caps will melt. They believe this to be a lie and the theory doesn't make sense. Citing some climate scientists they argue the historically the excess CO2 has and will never affect climate. 

They claim the IPCC is a UN body driven by politics as it is a political body. In looking at the biographies of IPCC employees are not actually the world's top scientist. They believe Climate Scientist are making this up in order to increase funding. They believe this is just a common shared political ideology and Global Warming has become a great industry in itself. If this theory were to collapse it would leave tens of thousands of people unemployed. They argue it is practically impossible to argue against Global Warming because it is such an accepted ideology that climate scientists refuse to examine the possibility that may indeed not be the case. 

The Global Warming Swindle theory argues the warming trend has lasted the last 200 years. They also believe that the changes in climate over the last hundred years has occurred without human influence. Through examinations of historical climate changes they break down the arguments of Global Warming, noting the warmer climates during the Medieval times, to before 200 years ago the harsh cold climate sometimes called the "small ice age."

Although I don't believe in this theory it is interesting to hear the argument. Also when thinking about Global Warming as an international industry with large funding struck me. This is true, in the Wall Street Journal says US funding is near 1.7 billion dollars. Global Warming also can be viewed as a political system. These are all simply theories though, but the evidence on both sides seem to be level. IS global warming a myth or made up ideology, this video may make you think it is a possibility.
